Volcanoes
Who knows how long volcanoes build up for? Well I could give you the answer volcanoes build up for over 1000 years, long right? And do you know how hot lava is? It's over 100 000 degrees that is very hot. I think you don't know, but there are 3 types volcanoes I could already sense that you need to know! Well its your lucky day because if you goto my cinder-cone volcanos page, the composite-cone volcano page or my shield volcano page than you will be more full of knowledge and teach others!
Types of Volcanoes
Composite Volcanoes

Composite volcanoes are the most dangerous type of volcano out of the 3 types of the volcanoes, shield, cinder and composite volcanoes. Composite volcanoes are made out of layers, layers of ash, rock and hardened lava built up. The biggest type of volcano is the composite volcano. Composite volcanoes are located in subduction zones which is in the convergent boundaries. Composite volcanoes are symmetrical which means both sides are identical so if you cut the composite volcano in half it looks exactly the same. The most common volcano is the composite volcano. Some composite volcanoes have vents on the side.
Shield Volcanoes

Shield volcanoes are low or you could say flattened. When shield volcanoes erupt they don't explode they ooze, the lava oozes out of the volcano. Shield volcanoes erupt in divergent boundaries. Shield volcanoes are mostly in Hawaii. You might think shield volcanoes are just really low but they are fairly deep if you look at a full size of an shield volcano you can see that it goes all the into the sea. Shield volcanoes are formed by hot lava. Shield volcanoes can be easily found in Hawaii.
Cinder-Cone Volcanoes

Cinder cone volcanoes have very steep sides. Cinder volcanoes are a cone shaped mountain and they are the most simplest volcano. Cinder volcanoes rarely rise up over 1000 feet. This volcano is near other volcanoes as well. Cinder cone volcanoes look like they have a bowl for the crater. Instead of spewing hot lava the cinder cone volcano blows up ash. Cinder cone volcanoes are small volcanoes, usually only about a mile across and up to about a thousand feet high. Cinder cone volcanoes have small crater on the top.
Ring of Fire
There are many questions but you are probably have this question,"What is the ring of the fire?'' if you do let me answer that for you. The ring of fire is where you can find most volcanoes. The ring of fire is found in the pacific ocean, the ring of fire starts from the South American plate, North American plate, Eurasian plate all the way to the Indo-Australian plate. The ring of fire occurs because of the movement of the Tectonic plates.
Q&A
Q:What is an volcano?
A:A volcano is a mountain form where molten rock erupts through the surface of the earth.
Q:What is a vent?
A: A vent is the opening of the volcano. The vent is located at the top of the volcano around magma. Some vents can be located on the side of the volcano (only the composite-cone volcano).
Q:Why are their 3 types of volcanoes?
A:Volcanoes are categorized of what comes out of the volcano and also how violent eruption is.

Extra Information
Some information that not might be in my volcanoes section so I just put a extra information section by itself.
Volcanoes have violent and just oozing eruptions, but what makes them erupt? Volcano eruptions occur because of the gases inside the earth. Between the Earth's crust and the mantle is a substance called magma which is made of rock and gases. When two plates collide, one section slides on top of the other, the one beneath is pushed down. Magma is squeezed up between two plates thats how volcanoes erupt.
There are volcanoes that will never erupt, volcanoes that might have a chance of erupting and volcanoes that will erupt, those volcanoes are called extinct, dormant, and active. Extinct volcanoes are volcanoes that won't erupt in a way you could say the volcano is dead. Dormant volcanoes are volcanoes that have a slight chance of erupting but it isn't dead either. Active volcanoes are able to erupt it is the opposite of extinct volcanoes.
